As long as you are familiar with balance, you can learn to skateboard. I’ve seen people skate from the ages of 2 years age to 62 years of age.
Is skateboarding safe?
Skateboarding can be dangerous depending on your approach. Taking it slow and steady, knowing your limits and wearing safety gear are the three most important aspects when starting out as a beginner.

The Hall for Gwinear sessions are indoor group skateboarding lessons that run for an hour each session. These sessions are held every Sunday and the options for time slots are 10am - 11am, 11am - 12am and 12am - 1pm.
This is a safe and learner friendly environment for beginners to get an opportunity to make friends to learn with and inspire eachother. The hall consists of a smaller set of skateboarding obsticles that will help beginners become more confident to explore public skateparks and become more versitile with their skateboarding skills.
The session covers different aspects of skateboarding such as; learning to warm up properly, introducing falling techniques, developing a basic understanding for the skateboard, how to ride it and develop a selection of tricks.
